“The Lord turned to him and said, ‘Go in the strength that you have and save Israel out of Midian’s hand. Am I not sending you?'” -Judges 6:14 (NIV)
Life is overwhelming. It just is. Hate to burst your bubble if you didn’t know that already, but it’s the truth. And it’s hard to do the right thing. It’s hard to stand up and face the proverbial Midianites of your life. When no one else is doing what’s right, when everyone does what’s “right in their own eyes,” it’s difficult to stand up for the truth.
You might think that you don’t have the strength to. It’s just too hard to do what He’s asked of you. You can’t handle it. I get it. I’ve been there. So many times. But I’m gonna let you in on a little secret (it’s not really a secret-you can find it in Judges). When He’s sent you, the strength that you have is enough. He’ll provide what you don’t have. He’ll equip you if He’s called you. But He doesn’t ask you to do anything that’s way out of the range of possibility. He doesn’t call you to things you can’t just so He can laugh when you fall on your face. He’s not like that. He loves to prove His strength and show His glory, and He loves to do that through seemingly inadequate people. People like you. People like me.
If God be for us, who can be against us? So go in the strength that you have and take on your Midianites. Is He not sending you?
