As You Are

Come unto Me, all ye that labor and are heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. -Matthew 11:28

It matters not where you are,
Nor where you’ve been,
At the top of the mountain
Or the edge of the end.
Wherever you are
And whatever you’ve done,
The Savior invites you,
As you are, to come.

The places you’ve been
And the things that you’ve done
Are all in the past;
They’re over and gone.
What matters now is
That you know you are loved
And that grace can be yours,
Because He is enough.

Jesus Christ died
To pay for your sin;
He covered it all –
You just have to let Him in.
He invites you to come
And to breathe life anew,
A gift everlasting
From the One Who loves true.

He’ll never forsake you
Or leave you alone;
He’s always loved you,
Though He knows what you’ve done.
He came here for you,
Sent by the Father above,
To bring mercy and truth
On the wings of love.

So come to the cross
And fall on your knees;
Bring all of your burdens
And leave them at His feet.
He’ll take you as you are,
If you’re willing to come –
If you’ll admit that you’re lost,
He’ll carry you home.
